Drum Theatre and City of Greater Dandenong are delighted to present Australia’s leading Contemporary Dance Company, Chunky Move’s epic dance production Rule of Thirds.
You’re invited to come along to not only a performance by Chunky Move, but an evening celebrating arts within the City of Greater Dandenong with the launch of [SUB]URBAN STUDIO.
[SUB]URBAN STUDIO is a two-year project, funded by City of Greater Dandenong and Creative Victoria to allow the community to engage in... different art forms, which include contemporary dance, puppetry and spoken word, through workshops and performances.
To celebrate, we’re launching the project with Chunky Move along with one of Victoria’s leading puppetry companies Black Hole Theatre and local Spoken Word artist Abdul Hammoud.
The program for the evening is:
Light refreshments in the foyer (drinks at bar prices) and an interactive and awe-inspiring performance of Les Méduses by Black Hole Theatre.
Spoken word performance by local artist Abdul Hammoud, followed by the official launch of the [SUB]URBAN STUDIO project by representatives from Creative Victoria and City of Greater Dandenong’s Mayor Cr Jim Memeti.
Chunky Move will then present their powerful and intricate dance piece, Rule of Thirds, which is a highly physical performance that celebrates perseverance, audacity and the ongoing desire to reinvent ourselves.
[SUB]URBAN STUDIO is funded by the City of Greater Dandenong and Creative Victoria as part of the Creative Suburbs program.
